The following agreements were made by the Villa Gaia residents to co-steward a highly productive heart space.

Social agreements:

We have all studied, understood, and agreed with the Villa Gaia Community Manifesto.
We consistently leave each space as we found it (or better).
When we need something, we ask for it.
We tune into each other’s flow and control our impulses: do not interrupt each other, listen attentively, and aim to serve the space.
If somebody’s behavior bothers us, we 1) self-reflect on what that trigger is inside us, and 2) if appropriate: have an open non-violent conversation where we ask them to change their behavior (ideally 1-1, or involve a third person if needed).
- If somebody remains a dissonant factor despite two clear feedback moments, they will be refunded (prorated for their remaining time) and asked to continue their journey.

Flow of the days and week:

Daily community dinner ~8pm is our collective check-in point where we all come together.
Communal work on Fridays 3pm-5pm. Together we roll up our sleeves and improve the physical spaces.
Silent hours between 11pm and 10am (unless agreed otherwise with everyone involved). Be mindful slamming doors and please no flushing toilets unless really needed.
The last person to go to bed switches off the wifi router.
To be mindful with gas usage, we each switch off our radiator at night and when not in the room.

Cleaning and health routines:

We clean the kitchen equipment after using it (including the stove).
When we finish a main food / beverage / ingredient, we add it to the grocery list.
We buy fruits and veggies as much as possible organic / bio.
We do not use teflon pots and pans for cooking.
We separate our trash according to the labelled bins.
We bring the trash to the dedicated trash bins behind the two houses + compost to the compost bin next to them.
When we go out by car, we drop off the trash at a local collection point.
We clean the toilet after using it.
No smoking inside any of the buildings.
When departing, we clean our room for the next guest and leave it behind the way we’d like to find it for ourselves.
When someone arrives at the Villa, they will find clean bedsheets/linen/pillow covers. Before they leave, they will make sure they are cleaned and stored for the next guest/resident to use.
